Over the years, Google has forayed into almost every aspect of the online world possible – be it work-related, operating systems, social networking, geography, or the media – you name it, and Google either has the product that suits your requirement, or at least the means to get you to the right product.
he annual developer conference of Alphabet, Google I/O has wrapped up for the year. The conference which took place between May 18-20 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, brought out a lot of new statements and things that are exciting to anticipate. The statements came thick and fast, but a lot of weren’t quite prepared for general demoing or merchandise release, so we will have to wait a bit more to see them in actions.
So the major announcements at Google I/O 2016 are Google Assistant, Google Home, Google Allo and Duo, Android Instant Apps, Virtual reality and “Daydream VR.”
Google Assistant is a refurbished version of Google Now. It works within other applications. Google Assistant is described as “building an individual Google for each user”. Google Home is the pivotal center to connect Google Assistant with connected home, smart devices. It is a competitor for Amazon Echo. The new telephone number-based messaging app from Google, which is Google Allo, whereas Google Duo is a video chat app that permits you to see the person calling you – in a live video preview – before you even answer the call.
